Hi my loves! I just got my hands on the new Revolution Beauty x Maxineczka Legacy Palette, I haven’t seen anyone talk about it so I thought I’d give it a go. When I saw pictures of it online, I honestly didn’t want it. But then I saw a blog post where they showed the colors a lot better and I just gasped. I had to have it.
All-in-one palette featuring 9 eyeshadows, 1 highlighter, blush and a bronzer. The perfect travel companion for on-the-go makeup.
Designed and created by YouTuber Maxineczka: “I wanted to create the perfect travel palette that would have all of my favourite eyeshadow colours, as well as a bronzer, blusher and highlighter. Use it to create a neutral look or a Smokey eye.”
The palette is bigger than I expected, which I love. The shades are gorgeous. Normally I don’t buy palettes with face products in them, because they’re usually too dark for my fair skin, but I’ve seen swatches online and they looked promising. Seeing it in real life, I got so happy. So let’s talk about the face products first:
The highlighter is quite natural, not as intense as I’m used to, but it looks so pretty. It doesn’t enhance texture, it doesn’t sit on top of the skin, it actually looks like you’re wearing a liquid highlighter – it melts into the skin and gives a nice sheen.
The blush is also very pretty. A bit deeper, so I had to be careful, but could easily make it work. Now the bronzer I was excited about. It looks light and quite cool toned in the pan, but when I put it on it had a rosy undertone, so it almost looked like blush, which I didn’t expect at all. It’s alright, but not my favorite. But that’s just a personal preference and my of course depends on your skintone.
Now to the eyeshadows. I’m one of Revolution Beauty’s biggest fans, I own SO many of their products, but I have to be honest and say that I never liked their eyeshadows. I know a lot of people rave about them, but they never worked out for me, so I was curious about these.
The eyeshadows are quite stiff. They’re hard to swatch, especially the shimmers. When I use them on the eyes, they blend beautifully. I love the mattes the most, they were so easy to work with and the shade selection is amazing. You have everything you need. The shimmer shades I had a few problems with, they took a little more work. They’re pigmented, but again quite stiff, so they were hard to pick up.
As you can see in the swatches, they are fine – but not crazy pigmented, but they’re definitely there. You can build them up. You can wet them to get a little more color, but even that won’t do too much.
But if you have som patience and take the time, the finished look is beautiful. For £10 you can’t go wrong with this palette! And I have used it a lot, so I would definitely recommend it. It’s travel friendly and you truly have everything you need in one place.
You can get it HERESwatches! First is the highlighter, blush and bronzer. And then there’s the eyeshadows in same order as the palette.
