Hi my loves! Makeup Revolution came out with a new concealer that went viral. Everyone talked about it, called it the new Shape Tape and raved about the shade range. I’ve always loved and used Makeup Revolution so it’s about time that they get some recognition! Not long ago they also released a full coverage foundation that also went viral on instagram and so many articles came up. A girl showed how it covered her severe acne and then it just kicked off from there.

I went out and bought both, so let’s find out if they are worth the hype!Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer (C1): Not only does it cost £4, but it also comes in 18 shades (with more to come). Lightweight yet full coverage concealer to cover blemishes, even skin tone and counteract dark circles, with a matte finish that won’t settle or accentuate fine lines and pores. Long wearing intense pigment that can also be used to contour and add definition. Everyone reviewed it – and loved it. It got compared to Shape Tape (which is my holy grail), it’s affordable and has an amazing shade range. I was curious to see if it would be light enough for me, since it’s almost impossible to find a concealer that is and the swatches online looked promising.

I love concealers with a doe-foot applicator and this one goes on so beautifully. In that way, it is similar to Shape Tape. The shade .. Isn’t as light as I had hoped. It matches the lightest shade in the foundation so it’s impossible to highlight and that was something that honestly disappointed me.  Online swatches looked a lot different and way lighter. Shape Tape is a better shade match for me, personally.

So how similar are they in formula? I have now seen a few people mention it’s nothing like Shape Tape – and I have to agree. Formula wise, they’re completely different. But that doesn’t mean that the Makeup Revolution concealer isn’t great – because it is! I actually love it, despite the shade being a little too yellow and not super brightening.

This is NOT full coverage in my opinion. And I don’t have much to cover. I saw a youtuber with a acne and dark under eyes mentioning the same thing. It still covers and does it’s job, but people made it seem like this was just so crazy thick and insane coverage.

It’s super easy to blend, it looks beautiful under the eyes and doesn’t crease.  The matte finish isn’t too intense, I have severely dry under eyes and it worked just fine, thank god! It doesn’t beat my Shape Tape, but it’s definitely a new favorite! Makeup Revolution Fast Base Stick Foundation (F1): The easy-to-apply stick formula melts into skin, blending seamlessly to leave a fresh and dewy finish. This also comes in 18 shades. I don’t like most foundation sticks, but the “dewy finish” caught my attention and I just had to try it. And people are talking about the crazy coverage so I was truly curious. I obviously got the lightest color which is described as a shade for fair skin tones with neutral undertone. I thought “perfect!”, this will match me. Then I received it and the color is just .. off. It looks super light in pictures, but in person it just looks a tiny bit weird. One thing’s for sure: it’s not ‘neutral’. It honestly has a weird shade and it’s hard for me to wear, because the undertone is so wrong.

When they say “dewy finish” they mean it! This is NOT for oily skin. I have super dry skin and had to set this with powder. Even then, I was still very shiny. It was almost too much, which I never thought I would say about a foundation. It’s a lot more intense than my all time favorite It Cosmetics CC cream, if that gives you some kind of idea.

Again, this for me personally, is not crazy full coverage. It’s high medium at most and then you can build it up. My skin is pretty clear, so if it’s not even full coverage for me .. How is it for someone with severe acne? Maybe if you put a lot on. I did a normal amount to judge it fairly, and had to build it up, so I couldn’t see my skin underneath.

It doesn’t look too heavy, it feels lightweight and is really easy to blend out. I haven’t had much luck with stick foundations, maybe because of my dry skin. I have tried A LOT and they always sit funny on my skin and it’s a nightmare to blend. But I didn’t have any trouble with this one!

I have the funniest story to tell you guys, So I put my makeup on, this as my foundation. I wore it all day and wanted a glass of juice. My cat was so desperate for cuddles that he bumped into me and the juice went ALL over my face. Not just a drop, but almost everything. I had to take a towel to dry my face very carefully, then I ran to the mirror and was prepared to remove my makeup. And you know what? Everything looked perfect. Nothing had moved, it looked as though I just applied it. That’s the craziest thing I’ve ever experinced with my makeup and I couldn’t believe it! Since I always wear dewy foundation, they come off easily. So even though this is a very dewy foundation, it will last through everything. Even juice. I love the packaging on both products, they look sleek and super stunning. I have been testing them for a while, so I could get a good feel and really form an opinion.

I’m don’t agree 100% with the claims and the shades are off for my fair skin, but the products are truly amazing. I think I’ll try finding another shade in the foundation to see if I can find one with a better undertone.

The swatches look pretty yellow, which the concealer definitely  is, but the foundation is not. It looks so weird in real life, I can’t describe it.

I will continue to use these, I really like them and would without a doubt recommend them! Just keep the things I mentioned in mind.
